Postcards were the Instagram of the early 20th century. - Dr Stephen Putnam Hughes

"Postcards were to the people in 1900 what the Internet was to the world in 2000. Postcards can be thought of as the world's first mass transmission of images. The world went from thousands to a billion postcards in a very short span of time, and the finest painters from all over the world got involved in this." - Omar Khan
